Patent Experience

CogniVista consultants have experience working with industry visionaries and domain experts in developing patented technology.

We are not lawyers and do NOT give legal advise. We are technology experts who have been through the patent process several times.

From Idea to Implementation

A patent pending status already exists and you, the patent holder, now wants to build a business around the idea and implement the technology as described in the patent.

To protect your investment in your patent, we ensure that the system built matches the claims and methods detailed in the patent. We understand that starting a new business often requires investment capital. Investors want to see results. We have experience in rapid prototype development. This working prototype can be used to show investors your progress and potential customers the value of your idea. We can then help you develop a fully functional "production" system. As part of that process, we will work with you and the other business leaders to develop business structures, strategies, and processes to maximize return on investment (ROI) and manage risk effectively.

From Technology to Patent

No patent exists, just a business need or a good idea.

We can assist you in analyzing the business needs and propose innovative solutions along the way. During the process, a unique method may emerge that is a patentable idea. We will work with you, the domain expert, and your patent attorney to translate aspects of the technology into a patent application. We can then work with you and the other business leaders to develop your business structures, strategies, and processes to maximize return on investment (ROI) and manage risk effectively.

Working with 3rd Party Patents

You are integrating the technology of a third party and you want to ensure that the systems you are buidling do not infringe on the third party's patent, nor limit you organization's ability to file its own patent based on the technology you are developing.

We will be happy to review your technology, the third party's technology and any relavant technologies and give you guidance. We can point out logic and technology potholes. As mentioned above, we are not lawyers and you certainly want to consult with your lawyer regarding any legal potholes.
